Term 2 is a very exciting term in relation to the activities we are covering.  The term started with the expertise of two basketball coaches who spent a day instructing students on the basic skills of basketball.  Their outstanding skills were thrilling to watch and certainly gave the students something to aim for.

Thanks to a successful grant application, we will be getting lots of new soccer equipment, including a new set of soccer goals.  Having this second set of goals will enable students, not involved in soccer training, to still be able to play soccer at recesses and lunchtimes.

We also used part of the grant to have soccer experts coach our students.   These coaches are associated with both Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City and are booked for Week 3.

On Monday, May 15th, students will be starting a 5-week AFL coaching clinic.  This will run similarly to last year, where the students have to opportunity to develop many of the skills associated with Australian Rules Football.

Our District Cross Country on Wednesday, 17th of May.  This involves several training sessions per week for the athletes involved.

As usual, the Excellence in PE award will continue this term, along with End-of-Term Free Choice, where each grade has an opportunity to spend a PE on a sport of their choice.
