TERM 1 2024

Hi everyone,

Term 1 is set to be an exciting nine-weeks for all students at Thomastown Primary School.

Preps will begin their journey into primary school by being introduced to fundamental movement skills such as throwing, catching, balancing and running through a range of exciting mini games that will keep them active for a whole hour.

Grade 1/2s continue to develop their fundamental movement skills by running further, jumping higher and using both overarm and underarm throwing. The aim for these students is to develop their decision making and decide when is the best time to use the physical skills they have learnt over the past few years in P.E.

Grades 3 to 6 will take part in Athletics trials with the aim of being selected in a team for Athletics Day. All students will take part in trials for shotput, discus, long jump, triple jump, high jump, and 100m and 200m sprints. These students will also partake in a four-week tennis program run by Topseed Tennis.

Athletics Day will be held at Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 27th March.

We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible in attendence.

Mr C
